Your lips play an important role of letting people know what kind of a person you are. In many ways your lips are as expressive as your eyes. If you are a pouter, your mouth reflects that attitude. If you are a happy go lucky person, your mouth reveals that also. Every woman has several makeup moods. There are times when you simply wont have the time to create elaborate makeup. And there maybe occasions when you will have the time and feel like enhancing your natural beauty. Whatever you mood may be, there are no shortcuts to long lasting lips. Here are some special tips for luscious lips: If you smoke or drink a lot of coffee, if you ski, or if you wear long-lasting lipsticks, or if you just want to prevent uncomfortable lip dryness, use a lip balm and allow it a few minutes to soak into your skin. Then blot your lips on a tissue to remove the excess oiliness. The lip balm will help moisturize and help prevent chapped lips and cold sores. If your lips are very full and you want a no makeup look, you may want to use a lip balm alone to give your lips a shiny and protective finish. If your lipstick changes color on your lips, your lips probably have a blue undertone and it shows through your lipstick and lip gloss color. You could try priming you lips with a white lipstick to cover up the undertone before you apply your lip color. There are a zillion different lip colors but they pretty much come down to the same three ingredients: waxes, oils, and dyes. Normally the higher the products oil content, the glossier the finish. The long-wearing lipsticks contain so little oil that you may need a little lip balm underneath to get your lipstick to go on smoother whereas the lip gloss contains so much oil it can not be molded into a solid form. There are a variety of options between those two extremes. The following are the most common types: gloss stick, sheer, cream, matte, long wearing, and pencil (liner). Even though you usually only have one favorite color you come back to time and again, it is always fun to experiment with different textures and finishes. Most women own a variety of lip colors and are able to select a particular color for a certain outfit or occasion. First you determine whether you have a cool or warm skin tone. And secondly you can compliment your clothing. A lot of the lipsticks today have built-in SPFs which is a bonus that is worth taking advantage of as your lips also need sun protection. Here are a few simple guidelines to help you make sense of all the color options available:
