Stimulating Your Skin

Have you thought about stimulating your skin and what the benefits it might have?

Here are two important reasons why you should stimulate your facial skin. Stimulating the skin helps clear up your complexion blemishes and retains or restores youthfulness.

When increasing the circulation to the skin it helps carry away waste products and brings new life-giving nutrients to the cells. It also helps remove the dead cells and debris. The younger the individual cells of the skin, the more youthful it will appear.

There are several methods you can choose from that are best suited to your skin and your way of life. Just remember that you want your program to stimulate externally and internally.

Also keep in mind that your complexion doesn’t just mean your face but any skin care program completed will include your entire surface of the body and not just the face and hands.

Here are five methods you can choose from:

1. Changes in temperature--

For the face you can use skin freshener/toner after cleanser or splash your face with cold water.

For the body you can use alcohol rubs or take a warm bath followed by a cold shower.

For the face and body you can use hot packs alternating with cold or by rubbing the body with ice cubes very invigorating.

2. Exercising--

For the face you can do facial exercise in front of the mirror or use an electric impulse machine designed for this purpose.

For the body you can do general exercises vigorously enough to perspire.

3. Change the blood flow—

For the face you can put your head down between your knees or by assuming the knee-chest position. This is done by kneeling and leaning the torso forward to the floor.

For the face and body you can lay in a beauty slant position which is putting your feet higher than your head. You can lay on the floor and place your feet on an object such as a footstool. Or you can stand on your head.

4. Packs—

For the face there are several packs to choose such as: hot oil, clay, egg, milk, mint, or oatmeal.

For the body some massage shops offer professional mud baths, hot packs and wax treatments.

5. Massage—

For the face you can do facial manipulation with hands or vibrator.

For the body you can do a brush bath. This is done in the tub with a fairly stiff brush and mild soap suds. You brush is used in a motion towards the heart. This exercises the tiny muscles in the skin and helps to keep it functioning properly.

Doses of sunshine or the use of a sun lamp can help stimulate problem skin. It can help dry up pimples and eliminate enlarged pores. A sun lamp, an inexpensive investment in health and beauty, can be used in the winter months. It only requires a few minutes a day.
