August 29, 2006 - Bryan Robert Pitts, of Maryville, enlisted in the Missouri Army National Guard on August 29, 2006.
Pitts will depart for Fort Jackson, South Carolina for basic combat training on May 30, 2007 and then attend Fort Sill, Okla., to complete advanced individual training. He will receive training for his military occupational specialty as a cannon crewmember.
Pitts will begin participating in the Recruit Sustainment Program (RSP) monthly drills this September. He stated, "I'm looking forward to all the training, because I have always liked the military."
Pitts is a senior at Maryville High School and is the son of Carla Jenkins and Richard Pitts, both of Maryville. He was recruited by Staff Sgt. Barry W. Adwell of the National Guard Recruiting Office in Maryville.

August 24, 2006 - Pvt. Jess G. Kenny, of Skidmore, enlisted in the Missouri Army National Guard on August 4, 2006. He will serve as a fire direction control specialist for the Headquarters and Headquarters Service Battery of the 129th Field Artillery located in Maryville.
Kenny will depart for basic combat training in November of 2006 at Fort Knox. Following graduation of basic training, he will then attend advanced individual training in Fort Sill, Okla.
Kenny was recruited by Staff Sgt. Barry W. Adwell of the Missouri Army National Guard Recruiting Office located in Maryville. He will receive a $20,000 enlistment bonus as well as 100 percent tuition assistance in addition to his regular military pay.
Kenny is a 2001 graduate of Nodaway Holt High School. He is the son of Kurby and Marylou Kenny. He is married to Crystal Kenny.

August 8, 2006 - Terry M. Selvy, of Maryville, enlisted in the Missouri Army National Guard on Aug. 8, 2006.
"I want to get in the ROTC program at Northwest, and the National Guard will give me more experience and training in the military," stated Selvy. He enlisted as a Human Resources Specialist for the Headquarters and Headquarters Service Battery of the 1st Battalion 129th Field Artillery located in Maryville.
Selvy is looking forward to the physical and mental challenge of basic combat training. He will depart for Ft. Jackson, South Carolina to complete both basic training and advanced individual training in May of 2007.
Selvy is a wildlife ecology and conservation student at Northwest Missouri State University. He is a 2005 graduate of Putnam County High School, Unionville, and is the son of Loren and Barbara Selvy, of Livonia. He was recruited by Staff Sgt. Barry W. Adwell of the Missouri Army National Guard Recruiting Office in Maryville.

June 20, 2006 - Cody A. Meier, of Tarkio, enlisted in the Missouri Army National Guard on June 20, 2006. He will spend the next year participating in the Guard's Recruit Sustainment Program, attending drill one weekend every month until he departs to Ft. Sill, Oklahoma for basic combat training in June of 2007.
Following basic training, Meier will attend advanced individual training where he will be trained for his military occupational specialty in fire direction control. His home unit will be the Headquarters and Headquarters Service Battery of the 1st Battalion 129th Field Artillery located in Maryville.
Meier is a senior at Tarkio High School and is the son of Phil Meier, of Maryville, and Sandra Meier, of Tarkio. He will receive a $20,000 enlistment bonus and 100 percent tuition assistance in addition to his regular military pay. Meier was recruited by Staff Sgt. Barry W. May 22, 2006 - Abraham J. Lager, of Barnard, enlisted in the Missouri Army National Guard on May 22, 2006. Lager will depart to Fort Benning, Ga., to complete basic combat training in May of 2007. He will complete advanced individual training at Fort Gordon, Ga. He will receive training as a signal support systems specialist, and his home unit will be the Headquarters and Headquarters Service Battery of the 1st Battalion, 129th Field Artillery located in Maryville.
When asked why he was enlisting Lager stated, "I want to get a good education and have it paid for while I am serving my country." He will receive a $15,000 enlistment bonus, 100 percent federal and state tuition assistance and the Montgomery G.I. Bill in addition to his regular military pay.
Lager will be a senior this fall at South Nodaway High School. He is the son of Sgt. Robert Lager and LaRee Lager. Abe's father has served in the National Guard for over 21 years and recently extended his enlistment.

May 23, 2006 - Sgt. Robert G. Lager, of Barnard, took an oath to extend his enlistment with the Missouri Army National Guard.
Lager has served in the Guard for over 21 years and is currently acting as an intelligence analyst for the Headquarters and Headquarters Service Battery of the 1st Battalion 129th Field Artillery located in Maryville.
Lager is the son of Harold and Mercedes Lager, of Maryville. He and his wife, LaRee, have one son, Abe Lager, who recently enlisted in the Guard.
