My Hats Off
I wanted to take my hat off to a few of Maryville's businesses. They all go the extra mile to make me feel like I'm a worth while member of the community.
If I could compliment one business in town it would certainly be Hy Vee They have the friendliest employees I truly believe. They seem to really care about your business....I guess they know that the shopper is the one that pays their salary. I hate going into a store where the employees can't be found or if you do find them they are tucked away in corners chatting to each other...and when you do ask for help they sigh deeply like you have interrupted some sort of life or death conversation.
Hy Vee employees are also some of the best.
They do not talk down to the older generation but
show them compassion. They seem to know that someday
they will be part of the older generation.

I'm getting older and I have noticed that the older generation are treated like they are a bother. Sure maybe we are a little harder of hearing. Sure maybe we can't see as well as we used too and get a little more confused but we are still human beings and deserve to be treated with respect. We all get older it's a fact of life. Thank you Hy Vee for the respect and understanding I really appreciate it.

Grays Truck Stop is another one of my choices for
one of Maryville's Great places do do business with.

They have been in business for a LONG time and I can understand why. They treat people like good friends instead of just "customers". It doesn't matter to them if you are young or old they treat you like they are really glad to have you as a customer. They seem to know that if you treat a customer with respect and a smile it will keep them coming back. I have been a customer of theirs for more years than I can count and they know when I pull up to the pumps I'm sitting in my car and letting them pump the gas...do they gripe? do they frown and grumble? Do they glare at me and make me sorry I came there? NO they don't. Even the young guys that pump the gas they smile and pass the time of day with me.
I am a Gray's customer and I will stay one happily.

LOOKS also gets my salute. I thought before I started going
there that I wouldn't feel comfortable cause it was just college kids and I would feel out of place. I have change my way of thinking since I started there. They have the nicest people working there. Friendly and outgoing and they care about you.
They greet you with a friendly hi and smile. You feel like you belong there no matter what age you are. It's not always easy for me to find the motivation to go up and work out but once I get there it's great.

Curves For Women is another friendly group. Working out there really got me into the routine of exercising and I am really grateful for that. Lots of friendly women with smiles. Conversation helps make the routine pass quickly. Like getting together for coffee with your best friends. Yep Curves is another friendly business in town.

Sutherlands......I'm so glad they came to town. They are always right there to help you find whatever you are looking for.
I love going in there and looking around. Their employees are always willing to go the extra mile to help you find what you need. They don't grumble or treat you like a disease when you walk through their door.

These businesses are just my choice in town and no one else's. I know there are a lot of great businesses here and a lot more friendlier employees and I take my hat off to them too.

Yes,shopping in Maryville is an experience but not always a great one but with the businesses I mentioned above it's a good experience....at least with them it is.

Well that's my thoughts for this Monday morning.
